Harry Gardner: “Oblivious”

I’m a total sucker for this style of laidback pop, full of juicy, jazz harmonies and Rex Orange County/Easy Life inspired vocals. “Oblivious” is utterly charming and brimming with colour, written at a cathartic moment in Harry’s life when he realised he was totally over a toxic relationship, and his feeling of freedom is reflected in the effortless listening experience the track delivers. It’s just a totally absorbing track and he’s a great artist to keep an ear out for!

MURMAN: “Achilles”

Fizzing with indie energy, duo MURMAN reach even greater heights with their brand new single ‘Achilles’. Offering a catchy bassline, thunderous percussion and driving guitars, this high-octane track offers fans a playful, yet dark and gritty classic rock sound. About half way through the track takes a whole new direction, exploding into a bright, chaotic soundworld. Speaking of their new release, drummer Abbi says: “We stumbled across an interesting bass line and it took off from there, we wanted to create something fun, writing quite playful lyrics and adding in a heavier breakdown to mix things up. It’s one of our favourite songs to play live.”

Peak Futures: “Broadway”

Produced mainly in remote sessions during the pandemic, this is a brilliantly balanced soulful track with stacks of heart and emotion. Founder Chris Hills explains “I lived in New York for 12 years – arriving there like so many others with hopes and dreams. When Joe [Bernie] wrote the lyrics over some progressions we had they resonated with me on so many levels. It’s about a character who comes to the city struggling to make a new life, but who is still tied to their past. Like the generations of musicians that went before me, living in New York had an influence on my musical sensibility that’s hard to overstate.”

TYSON: “Tuesday”

Absolutely loving the lo-fi chilled out vibe of this track. Tuesday is a collaboration with producer and childhood pal of TYSON, Oscar Scheller and was mixed by Kieran Hebden. The epitome of woozy pop over a groovy R&B beat- combined with TYSON’s dreamy vocals it’s just an all round banger. TYSON says on the track: “The song is about that sweet part at the beginning of a relationship when you can’t get enough of each other. That safe happy feeling, you can’t get enough of that either.”

Keep Dancing INC: Saint Laurent River Droite Session

At Saint Laurent Rive DroiteAnthony Vaccarello continues to curate unique cultural experiences by exploring and collaborating with emerging music talents. Through the brand’s “live sessions” series, Keep Dancing Inc performed their brand-new show for Saint Laurent and it’s absolutely awesome. Full of some brilliant tracks, it’s just been a performance that has really caught my eye this week and is definitely worth a watch!
