Aeris Roves ‘Long Way Down’

From the opening pulsing synths and heavy chords, this is a gorgeously atmospheric track by London-based artist Aeris Roves. Having already caught the eye/ear of notable artists such as Billie Eilish (supported her European tour), Roves boasts a silky, RnB voice sure to only grow in influence over the coming years.

Speaking on the single, Aeris recalls “it’s a song I wrote with frequent collaborator, Two Inch Punch. It started life as a very rough idea that we couldn’t quite finish and went through numerous reiterations. It looks at the idea of a breakdown in communication during a relationship and the process of realigning with a partner. It likens this feeling of rediscovery to the idea of the freefall.”

Nature TV ‘Tell Me Something Good’

This is a track stock full of groove- just oozing with incredible sun-tinged 70’s vibes. I would thoroughly recommend giving it a listen if you fancy throwing on a pair of flares, chunky sunglasses and block out the winter frost. The band explains: “Tell Me Something Good is about the desire for positive reinforcement in relationships. It’s exploring how one-sided relationships can be; how you can always be trying to have the other person’s back, even if they don’t have yours.”

Disorientations ‘Watching You Go’

For your daily dose of post-punk, why not check out this outcry of a track by Disorientations, a three-piece formed back in 2018. Raw and anthemic, ‘Watching You Go’ is a track that muses on the difficult process of grief and explores the surrender of emotions that accompanies the experience of personal loss. It’s a fast paced, cathartic track that packs a hefty punch.

Pixey ‘Sunshine State’

Vibrant and full of Y2K energy, ‘Sunshine State’ is a glowing track by Liverpool based performer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Pixey. Doused with rhythmic momentum, major harmonies and a sunny disposition, Pixey is an electric performer whose soulful sound and tangible excitement is thrilling. Be sure to keep an ear out for this wonderful performer.
